Embark:vi.(使) 上船，開始，著手 (尤指新的、困難的或令人激動的事)

Embark on:從事，著手

短語釋義: 在著手學習或者繼續(xù)學術研究時要面對經濟上的困難

Governments can monetarily help them.

Monetarily:adv. 財政上。從金錢角度，這個詞很不錯哦~ 有時可以用來替換 “financially” 這一類詞~

e.g.: It does require all of the employers to monetarily assume the burden of this expense.

短語釋義: 可以從財政上幫助他們~

The educational sector deserves more government funding.

Deserve:應得，應受；這個詞其實非常好用，比如平時經常聽到的 “You deserve this”— 你應得的

該句可以理解為: 教育應該得到更多的投資

Tackle:解決，處理，對付 (難題)

Give priority to the people’s livelihood.

Livelihood:n. 生計，生活，營生

Give priority to:考慮，將…放在首要位置（…is more important）

There will be no return on investment.

No return:沒有回報

There will be no return on… “這將不會有任何的回報”；

e.g.: You spent precious resources of time and money on the dating process with no return on your investment.

Enhance quality:加強素質，質量

e.g.: This loan will fund a comprehensive energy retrofit project that, when completed, will enhance quality of life for the residents.

Conquer difficulties

Conquer:V. 戰(zhàn)勝，征服，克服

Conquer difficulties:克服困難

這也是一個在雅思寫作中能經常運用到的表達~

e.g.: Their success showed how people can conquer great difficulties.

Perilous sports

Perilous:adj. 危險的，冒險的

(Perilous的比較級和是加more 和 most哦~)

e.g.: Often, they venture to some of the most perilous places on earth.

Peril是Perilous的名詞形式，意思為: 危險，冒險

e.g.: Be aware of the perils and threats

Leisure pursuits

這算是一個短語的搭配，意思為 “閑暇愛好”

Burgeoning international businesses have boosted the world’s economy immeasurably.

Burgeoning:adj. 增長的，生機勃勃的

e.g.: Both BlackBerry 10 and Windows Phone have burgeoning app marketplaces, but are missing many key apps.

Boost the economy:促進經濟 (發(fā)展)

Immeasurably:adv. 無法測量地，廣大無邊地

e.g.: These potential scenarios would be made immeasurably worse if Greece were to leave the euro.

Stand aloof from

Aloof:adj. 冷淡的，疏遠的；adv. 遠離，避開地

Stand aloof:脫離，不參加，與from連用

Costly: adj. 昂貴的，代價高的

e.g.: It turns out that giving buyers too many choices is impractical and costly for carmakers.
